Most wallet thefts are avoidable. The scams rely on speed and trust, and they almost always show warning signs. Here are seven red flags to watch for.

1. Urgency

"Claim before it ends", "limited spots", "act now". Urgency is designed to stop you from thinking. Real opportunities do not vanish in minutes.

2. Free money

Unexpected airdrops and rewards are the most common lure. If you did not sign up for it, be suspicious.

3. A link from a stranger

DMs, replies, and emails with links are the number one delivery method for drainers.

4. A request for your seed phrase

Always a scam. No exceptions.

5. A look-alike domain

Extra words, swapped letters, or an unusual domain ending.

6. A signature you do not understand

If the wallet request is a wall of code, do not approve it blindly.

7. Pressure to disable your security tools

No legitimate site will ask you to turn off your protection.
